Technical Overview

EXCHANGE CENTRAL was developed to gather calendar information from Outlook and Exchange. The need for viewing more than one Outlook calendar in one view is not adequately supported by Microsoft Outlook, so anyone working in a team has a need for this extra functionality. Exchange Central is an add-on for Microsoft Outlook and needs both an installation of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange to run.

To use Exchange Centrals outlook team calendar functionality it's necessary to grant permissions for every users calendar. Each user must grant permission for other people to access their calendar information. You can choose between either individual users or distribution lists. The mailboxes must have a minimum permission of Reviewer, otherwise it will not be possible to read the appointments in Exchange Central.
